Update from Melody

Here is an update from Melody that arrived tonight 2-27-05:

Luckily, my aunt and uncle live down the street from the hospital, so I come here every once in a while and can check my emails.

Today was a hard day for Kyle. He is very uncomfortable, and aware of his pain. He tried to "escape" this morning, much to the staff's dismay, but luckily, they were able to reason with him and keep him safe with care.

He is quite miserable - being attached to every tube imaginable and his vitals are watched constantly. The beeps and noises keep him up constantly, as well as the hourly checks from the nurses. He is very irratable and he feels like he is being tortured. He still doesn't feel 100% reassured that the aneurysm has been stopped.

Today, I watched as the nurses removed and reapplied the head bandages. I didn't know if I could do it, but it was much better than I'd expected. He looked good under there, I'll leave it at that. The recovery is very hard. He is in a lot of pain. He can't seem to rest. But praise God for a couple of excellent nurses, especially Belinda (South African, Tracy, how do you like that).

There was also another CT scan this morning, and the results were also the same: no more internal bleeding. Please continue to pray. It will be weeks before we'll be able to determine the success of the recovery, and especially the first week will determine much of his mental capacities for the future.

I'm having a hard time praying myself, so pray for that as well.
